We have never bred extensively, usually only when we have required something to follow on in the show ring or when circumstances have required that we should breed from a bitch to ensure continuing the line. Our maxim has always been quality rather than quantity, breeding simply to produce stock to sell, either as pet or for show, has not been our way - the future welfare of the stock we have produced has always been our paramount consideration. |
| Our decision to retire from breeding and showing has been taken for a number of reasons, not least of which is the growing disenchantment we have felt with the show scene here in the UK over the last few years. It is our hope for the future that the breed will see a return to those days when, in the show ring, an exhibit is judged more on its soundness and adherence to breed type than on its ownership or breeding. Below we pay tribute to some of those papillons that have over the years graced our lives. Some have achieved success here in the UK others have achieved success overseas. We congratulate those folk with Nouveau Papillons on their successes and are pleased that our bloodlines have contributed to the success of some well known kennels overseas, in particular Mondelise in Australia, Queen Bless in Japan, La Rocca's in Sweden and we are sure that these lines will gain much success for Marichin Papillons in the USA. Other kennels too have enjoyed success with Nouveau Papillons, either directly or through imports from some of these kennels. |
